Photographer Lori Nix’s hand-crafted dioramas are fictional scenes of a post-apocalyptic world in which plants and decay reclaim both grand and mundane structures. Each structure is built in Nix’s living room and can take over half a year to build.
Well yes these are great but I have to say that you can immediately see the artificiality in them. I prefer the genuine images of decay such as Jane and Lousie Wilson’s photos of Chernobyl, and Marchand and Meffre’s images of ruined Detroit or Anne Hardy’s strange yet somehow more convincing created interiors.
